Granuloma Annulare Symptoms - Granuloma Annulare TreatmentGranuloma Annulare is a common condition of unknown cause characterized by small, raised bumps that form a ring. The condition is usually seen in otherwise healthy people. Occasionally, it may be associated with diabetes or thyroid disease. Granuloma annulare is a long-term (chronic) skin disease consisting of a rash with reddish bumps arranged in a circle or ring. When granuloma annulare is widespread it may be associated with underlying diabetes mellitus. Rarely, granuloma annulare appears as a firm nodule under the skin of the arms or legs. The disease is usually characterized by red spots in the initial stages which expand outwards in a ring-like fashion. Some types of granuloma annulare have been linked with diabetes but this is very uncommon in the ordinary type. Most lesions of granuloma annulare disappear with no treatment within two years.
